Modernization is Now
What to Consider Before Upgrading to IRIS

The upgrade to Intersystem's next-generation EHR data platform, IRIS, is imminent. And with it comes an opportunity to take advantage of platform-independent licensing selection as well as cost savings. No more restrictions on using a specific platform opens up new possibilities, but the upgrade process is not without its challenges.

In this session, we'll discuss what healthcare IT leaders need to consider when upgrading—including platform selection, cost of a hardware refresh, and operational support. We'll also discuss additional benefits, such as having a predictable refresh cycle, forecasting operational cost, and leveraging cloud-based IaaS for disaster recovery in a more efficient manner, for a highly trusted and consistent end-user experience.

Participants will learn to:

  • Rapidly develop, deploy, and manage highly resilient, reliable, and cost-effective EHR infrastructure

  • Select a platform that fits your data center and technology management methodology

  • Migrate existing applications from other technologies so that they can take advantage of the capabilities, performance, and efficiency of modernized data center and InterSystems IRIS

  • Run the software in any of the major public clouds, in hybrid configurations, move existing on-premises applications to the cloud, and move from one cloud to another
